Why test your reaction time?
Reaction time — the delay between a signal and your motor response — is one of the simplest and most studied cognitive measures: it reflects the speed of information transmission in the nervous system, and declines with fatigue, age, or lack of attention. A fit adult typically falls between 200 and 300 milliseconds on a simple visual signal.
Mentaro's Reflexes round measures only that: no math, no memorization, just your pure speed. Timing is done server-side based on actual elapsed time, which makes the result hard to fake and comparable from one day to the next.
How to improve your speed?
Reaction time improves mainly through consistency and staying alert to the signal — remaining relaxed but focused produces better results than being tense while waiting. Your « Speed » ability, scored out of 100, is tracked on your stats page, day after day.
Cross the 80 then 90/100 thresholds to unlock badges and avatars dedicated to this ability, and compare your reaction time with your friends on the leaderboard.
